“When I find it hard to guide my child, I try following them instead.” – Jessica Milburn

Parenting can be deeply meaningful—and also emotionally overwhelming. Many parents seek therapy not because they are doing something wrong, but because they want support in navigating stress, emotional reactivity, and the impact of their own experiences on how they show up with their children. I work with parents who are looking for a compassionate, non-judgmental space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.

As a parent, therapist, and relational trauma survivor, I understand how closely parenting is tied to our nervous systems, histories, and relationships. When life feels intense—whether due to parenting stress, relationship dynamics, immigration, or past trauma—it can be hard to stay grounded and present. My work focuses on helping parents slow down, tune in, and build emotional safety within themselves, so they can respond with greater clarity and confidence.

My own path into this work came from questioning mainstream parenting and mental health approaches that didn’t fully reflect my lived experience. While navigating immigration, caregiving, and life’s many demands, I sought therapy for myself. That process helped me reconnect with my inner steadiness, move out of survival mode, and create space for healing. It also deepened my commitment to attachment-based ways of supporting families.

In my practice, I offer therapy for parents who feel stretched thin, emotionally reactive, or disconnected from themselves. My work is relational and holistic, rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your life and your family. Together, we gently explore what’s getting in the way of the kind of parenting and relationships you want, while honoring the realities of the systems and pressures you live within.

If you’re seeking parent support that is thoughtful, trauma-informed, and deeply respectful of your lived experience, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to do this on your own.
